2008 Printer Server not getting discovered
I have a 2008 R2 SP1 Print Server not getting discovered by SCOM 2007 R2 CU4.
I have the MPs installed for all versions of the print server target. The only thing I can think of is that the print queues are not in AD but it's a functional print server.
Any ideas when a discovery fails?

First check if you have enabled the print services role on the server.Regards,

Print Server is installed. LPD Service, Internet Printing, and Distributed Scan Server not installed.
This is a functional print server in our 64 bit environment.
Thanks,

There is no management pack for Server 2008 R2 print server role. If you have downloaded the community print server MP, then you will have such a thing - but for clarity, there is not _supposed_ to be print server support in the official MSFT print
server MP for Server 2008 R2. this feature was not supported by the print team at MSFT for server 2008 R2 yet.

Hi,
I have a folder called Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Print Services under Microsoft Windows Print Server.
This came from importing management packs from the catalog built into operations manager.

This is correct. If you have server 2008 servers, you will find print managed in that folder. If you have server 2008 R2 print servers, there is no MP that covers this workload.Microsoft Corporation

Thanks,
I missed that little detail about R2 in your first post.
