401 Unauthorized:
Dear Friends I am getting the below error message when i try to open the SharePoint site. 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. It asks me for password for about 3 time and then gives me this error, My Central Admin is working 100% fine. Hi, First, though this isnt the normal error you would receive.. Are you attempting to login to a site that you just? From the server you created the site? If this is the case then you should read about LoopBack processing http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926642/en-us and how to implement BackConnectionHostNames.. If this is occuring from a desktop or client system and has nothing to do with attempting to browse the WebApp from a WFE. Then you should open Central Administration > Application Management > Policy for Web Application > Choose your WebApp from the Drop Down > Cllick on Add Users, Next (All Zones) > Enter your UserName, Full Control > and Click Finish..
