AD GPO's & IE8 with WSS
I have a AD environment (2k3/XPsp3) with several hundred users and a a couple of labs with kiosk'ed workstations. I have the them locked down very nicely with GPO's and have installed WSS with WDP set for reboot to maintain the current state. The environment does not use roaming profiles, although it very well may shortly. The problem is that with each user logon, IE8 asks it's standard new user setup questions. This is in addition to Win XPsp3 setting up the user with each logon after reboot. It is kind of a bummer to have to sit through that each and every time, only then to repeat it the next day after a reboot. All of my restrictions are being handled by GPO, the only thing that I have WSS doing is WDP. If there is a way to create a "base" environment, WITHOUT breaking GP's, I would greatly appreciate a pointer.Other than that- what a KILLER application (thank you)! Talk about saving me lots of time!Best, jvigil

Hi jvigil, I'd like to inform you that we may not have easy way to disable this "runonce" in IE8. Before you lock the profile, log in as the restricted user and click through whatever prompts IE is giving you. Then log off and log back on as the restricted user again to verify that there aren't any unexpected prompts. Log off and log in as the administrator. Launch SteadyState and lock the profile.
