AD security group permissions
Hello,
I have a question about the integration of Active Directory Security groups, and Sharepoint Permissions. We currently have most of out Sharepoint site set up using AD security groups, and i have been tasked with updating and re-orging the groups. That means I will have to be renaming most if not all to a new naming scheme. My question is, when I rename the AD group, will it auto populate the new name in Sharepoint, or will I have to go through and re-add them all?
Thanks,
ben

I believe SharePoint stores the SID instead of the group name, so the permissions won't break. But, you may see the "old group name" for a while after changing the group name in AD.

Profile Import?

No, Profile import doesn't refresh the "Display Name" filed.I still wait a "step by step" procedure for that!

You need to delete the old group name from the "People and Group" page, and add it again using the permissions page.
