Accesing sherepoint from internet by anonymous acess
We are using sherepoint server 2007 with standard license, users log in to the sharepoint using active directory authentication,we want to make our clients access the sharepoint from the internet.I know that accessing sharepoint site from the internet can
be done using form authentication, but if we want to open the site for anonymus acees from the internet, can this be done, and if it can be done does it require any more license other than the standard license

According to this document from Microsoft SharePoint 2007 requires the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 for Internet Sites server license whether the external users are authenticated or anonymous. User CALs are not required for external users
if you have purchased the Internet server license. Internal users (AD users) will still need the regular server license and CALs.

It seems odd to go as far as to say "requires".
You can go for the alternative of paying for a server Internet connection license + a MOSS Internet connection license surely ?
That would in the case of a single server installation turn out cheaper I presume because the "for Internet version" of MOSS is equivalent to the Enterprise Edition (+ those Internet licences)

Any kind of external access (authenticated via FBA or anonymous) requires purchase of an Internet server license. Yes, the site can be configured using Forms based authentication so that external users can log in. It can also be configured so
that external users can access the site anonymously. But according to the licensing document I refered you to ANY kind of external access (other than by users who already have an internal CAL) requires purchase of the Internet server license.Paul Stork SharePoint Server MVP

Microsoft Office Server 2007 for Internet Sites is the official name in the document of what we commonly refer to as the MOSS Internet connection license. So I'm not sure what you mean. They are just different names for the same thing.Paul Stork SharePoint Server MVP

Estimated prices can be found here:

But you will want to check with whoever you buy your Microsoft licenses from for an actual price quote. These are just estimates.Paul Stork SharePoint Server MVP
