Access Permissions for New User Account
Hi,I am new to SharePoint and trying to setup a test bed for exploring its features. We have setup SharePoint Server 2007 on Windows 2003 R2 box. When I access this SharePoint URL from another PC on network, it brings up Login Dialog Box. I am able to use the site if I login with Administrator ID.Now, for my internal testing, I want to create multiple User IDs (enduser, author, viewer etc) to try the roles concept.I have created a User ID for End User(Viewer), using the Windows 2003 - Computer Management - System Tools - Local User and Group. But when I try to login using the newly created ID from another PC on network, it throws me Access Denied page.Assuming that there is no Active Directory server in my network, what are the permissions required for any newly created User ID on Windows 2003 OS to access the SharePoint portal from other Network PC's?Thanks,Kamlesh

Hi KSDN,We need to explictly add the people to access the site apart of site Administrators. Please add users as follows.1. Open the site (as Site Administrator)2. Select Site Actions -> Site Settings -> Users and Permissions -> People and Groups -> New3. Give list of users (already created in Windows), Apply permissions and click OK.4. If you want to give access to all the windows or AD users, just select "Add All Authenticated Users" and apply permissions and click ok.Now users were added to your site for specified permissions.Regards,USK.
