Hi Computer state is determined by monitors (which have state) and how the health rolls up. Alerts can be generated by monitors (which have state) and rules (which do not). So if everything is green in the state view and you have alerts in the alerts view, then these alerts are generated by rules (the alert details will tell you this). Kevin Holman describes the Autoresolution states here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2007/12/13/how-grooming-and-auto-resolution-work-in-the-opsmgr-2007-operational-database.aspx Cheers GrahamRegards Graham New System Center 2012 Blog! - http://www.systemcentersolutions.co.uk View OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/

If you just want to close alerts, you can try the cmdlet Resolve-Alert. Here are some references: Resolve all open alerts generated by specific Agent http://blogs.technet.com/b/jonathanalmquist/archive/2009/03/19/resolve-all-open-alerts-generated-by-specific-agent.aspx OM07 Powershell: Close all open alerts generated by a rule http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/smoss/archive/2008/12/12/om07-powershell-close-all-open-alerts-generated-by-a-rule.aspx In addition, please refer to the following post with is about setting resolution state with a script: Set Resolution State Automatic http://contoso.se/blog/?p=284 Hope this helps.
