Active Directory and Essentials
Are there any Active Directory schema extensions required to run Essentials? Thanks

Hi, About Active Directory in which Essentials 2007 is deployed, the only requirements are: 1. The domain in which SCE is installed must be running Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services. 2. All Essentials 2007 server components and all managed computers must be members of the same Active Directory forest. I think it has no bearing on the schema extensions. Thanks.

Hi,Thank you for your previous response. I am just getting back into looking at Essentials, and have a few more questions.I work in an environment where I do not control the Active Directory or any domain/child domain, so I am not a domain administrator. I do have the rights to create and link group policy objects to my OU inachild domain. If I install Essentials in thechild domain of which I have some OU admin rights, should I choose local policy when configuring Essentialsand then manuallycreate the group policies for my managed OU's? If I do this am I losing any features of Essentials?I know that there is a requirement of only one essentials server in a domain. But, if I do install and choose local policy, will anyone else in my domain be able to bring up their own Essentials server and do the same as I did, without affecting my enviroment/setup?Thanks for your help
