Auto populate InfoPath fields on drop down change

Hi

I have created an InfoPath form with follwing fields:

  1. Approver Name
  2. Approver Designation

Here Approver name is drop down which is fetching data from Approver Details list. Approver Details list again has Approver Name and Approver Designation colummns. I want Approver Designation feild to be auto populated when Approver Name get changed. How to achive this?

Hi Pratima,

If Approver Name is a lookup to Approver Details list, you can fetch the Approver Designation as an associated column when creating the lookup. It will not be shown on the InfoPath form but it will automatically get populated when you submit the form with Approver Name. Hope it helps.

Hi Pratima, you need to set up an action rule on the Designation field. The rule would be: if Approver Name Field= "Name," then run an action to set the Designation field value to the corresponding Designation.
