Microsoft Visual Studio is unable to load this document: To design Intergration Services packages in Business Intelligence Development Stuido, Integration Services has to be installed by one of these editions of SQL Server 2008: Standard, Enterprise, Developer,
or Evaluation. To install Intergration Services, run SQL Server Setup and select Intergration Services.

BI Tools come in form of BIDS - Business Intelligence Development Environment. You probably is trying to open a package using the Visual Studio, right? And you have no SSIS installed anywhere.

As ArthurZ stated above, you need to install SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Just because you have isntalled SQL Server 2008 doesn't mean that you have SSIS installed. They are two completely different products.
Re-run SQL Server 2008 setup and install SSIS. Jeff Wharton MSysDev (C.Sturt), MDbDsgnMgt (C.Sturt) MCT, MCPD, MCITP, MCDBA, MCSD, MCAD

I am assuming that the SSIS Project you are trying to open is a SSIS 2008 Project.
So do you have Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and BIDS 2008 installed on your machine? If so, you cannot open SSIS 2008 Projects in Visual Studio 2005.
What could be happening is VS 2005 is launching when you double click on the SSIS project as VS 2005 is setup as the default application for opening SSIS projects. You will need to open this project by first launching BIDS 2008 and then selecting File

Make sure you open the project, not the package, and that you work in
BIDS not Visual Studio (VS). You must be able to open the project in VS, too, but only if you have the BIDS installed.Arthur My Blog

Hi, I too am facing the same problem as the above . Could you please tell me which service pack you are refering to (& where can I download..if possible). Should I download the SQL server Integration Services Separately and install or will it come in the
SQL 2008 R2 itself. (I have downloaded the trial version of SQL 2008 r2..wilit not contain the SSIS also by default..?). When I tried to fix this by running the setup , it is not showing any SSIS to install where as my raw file (the unzipped files contain
one SSIS application which will not open by itself when tried to install that way..)please advice.....Thanks in advance You can even reach out to me in sreeraj_s@yahoo.com .......
