Backup Publishing Pages and its content
Hi all, We have a heavy sharepoint portal with hundreds of site pages. We now want to backup some of the pages since a custom solution(wsp) will be overriding them. After installing the wsp we will be removing all the pages added by the wsp and re-load our backuped ones. To backup our existing pages, I tried downloading the pages one by one but once uploaded them back the content didn't came up (web part zones and webparts). I dont know any other way to backup some 20 pages along with their content ( like webparts and zones) Please advice.Isha kapoor My SharePoint Blog Follow me

Hi, I think you can create a web package (.fwp file) using SPD to backup your web pages, and then import an deploy the file into your site after deploying the solution package. For more information, please refer to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-designer-help/export-or-import-a-web-package-HA010081923.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA010069939 Hope it helps. Xue-Mei Chang
