Can't access CA site in IE?
Hi All,
Since few days, I am not able to access Central Admin site from in IE. However, I can access it in mozila firefox. This issue is when I access it from remote machine. Locally on the server I can access it in IE as well. I appreciate your suggestions
on this.
Thanks,
Rahul Babar

Sorry if this is way off, but have you tried adding the URL for the Central Admin site to your list of Trusted Sites in IE?

Thanks a lot, this works like a charm.
But I am wondering how it was working earlier without adding into trusted sites.

Its tough to say without knowing exactly what you were doing to access the site, especially since this is one of those times w/ SharePoint when its a client-side problem rather than a server-side one (which always makes it trickier to diagnose).

I have often found that when IE didn't work then I could access CA in Safari for Windows. If I then went back to IE (with a new copy of it) then IE would access CA too. It's almost as if it needed Safari to wake-up the access. (What's more likely is that
IE gave up quicker).
I offer this not as a solution just as a note that you are not the only person wondering. John's note about this being client-side and therefore difficult to 100% solve is very true.2010 Books:

2007 Books:
WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow
Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.
