Cannot delete web application...please help
I am having trouble deleting a web application from within central admin. Error message belowAn object of the type Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPIisWebsiteUnprovisioningJobDefinition named "Unprovisioning Intranet-APPP" already exists under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPWebService named "". Rename your object or delete the existing object. My first attempt to delete the site from within central admin appeared to successfully remove both the site and application pool from IIS. However, an entry still remains for the web application within Sharepoint Central Admin.I cannot create an new entry using any of the parameters that were delted (web application name, path etc ) because of this phantom entry that resides in SP.I've tried iisreset and server reboots without success. Please help !!!!

That probably means the job already exists. In Central Administration go to Operations and then Timer Job Status. Search for a job like "Unprovisioning <yoursite>". Delete it. Go back and try to delete your site again. All should be well.Sean

To delete a web application without deleting the IIS web site or the content database:
stsadm o deletewebapp -url "http://webappname"To delete withthe IIS web site and the content database:
stsadm -o deletewebapp -url "http://webappname" -deleteiiswebsite -deletecontentdb
I tried the same for SSP Delete. It worked good enough

Go to your timer definitions and see if you have one for "Unprovisioning Intranet-APPP" and delete it ...

run the stsadm -o execadminsvcjobs on all servers.Go to the manage content Db and check whether the content DB is there. if its there remove the content database. Go to SQl Server and using SSMS delete that content DB.follow this step : http://fillzephyr.wordpress.com/2009/06/23/unable-to-delete-share-service-providers-ssp-in-sharepoint-2007-moss/
