I do not have the ability to right-click and delete an unused SSP database in SharePoint. I have created a new one and moved all of the app pools and web apps to it. It does not even show as a link under Shared Service Administration only a line item. I have checked out error messagea and blogs closely related to this with no success. I was just at the NJ user group conference this past week and I hesitate to say it but ... I think the MCS presenter said that the original SSP can never be deleted. However, .what she might have said is that the default SSP can never be deleted.
