Change the default Service Unavailable error message
Hi All -
There are times when Ineed todisable Reporting Services, which I do by stopping the ReportServer application pool service in IIS, temporarily. During these times if a user attempts to access reporting services they get the default Sevice Unavailable error message. I would like to create a custom Service Unavailabile message. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I am not sure how to create a custom message, I use redirection to a static page in which I can put what ever I want.
Hope this helps

Redirection sounds fine. How are you doing this? What are you editting to point at another page?

I use a more userfriendly address formy report server set by dns
so rather than
http://localhost/reports
I use
http://mycompanynamesreporting
so rather than my url directing me to the report server i forward traffic to my under consrtuction page.
Hope this helps.

Old post.. but, this will not help for those that are reading this lame answer... keep looking as CLIENTS have something known as DNS caching and all that your DNS server will do is push this to a specific IP address (eg., your lame IIS server to start with.)
Wish that noobs would quit trying to act smart and quit feeding the internet with lame solutions. Keep digging your search engine for the right answer.
