Check if there's a proxy for the system account (using proxycfg.exe on server 2003 or netsh winhttp show proxy on Server 2008).

Hello Torsten,i checked this allready and i am using direkt access. Additionalyi checked theIEsettings (running in system context) and nothing seems to be wrong.I could ping the server with netbios and dns names. Both methods give the right ip. So i think nothing is wrong withthe iesettings. This is the state by yesterday.Today i found the problem so now it works with fqdn. :)
Solution:1) The Server is in the ad domain dom1.example.org.2) The primary dns zone for the server is zone1.example.orgUnderSystem Properties - Computer Namethe propertyFull Computer Nameis set by default to server1.dom1.example.org. But this is wrong. The correct full computernamehave to beserver1.zone1.example.org.Theserver install teamforgot this litte setting to change. After changing that and one raboot laterSUP works fine with FQDN.Markus

I have the same problem. I have a primary site and many secondary child sites all of which are to be configured with the SUP role. We have an active directory AD domain name of example.co.uk and dns zone of example.co.uk. When changing
the secondary site server from fqdn to netbios it all works e.g. server1.example.co.uk to
\\server1 it all works fine. what is wrong here?
