Client Site Assignment in Configuration Manager...
Hi, my scenary is the follow:
System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, Mixed mode,
I currently have a Primary Site and branch Office have a Secondary Site…
the primary site has a site code "PRI", the secondary site has a site code "SEC", the installation of the secondary site was
successfully, However I can see that the sccm client is installed on computers that are on the boundary of the secondary site with the site code of the parent site, how do that computers that are on the boundary of the secondary site to be installed
with the site code correct?
How can I assign the site code properly to the computers?

Hi,
A SCCM client can only belong to a Pirmary Site so this behavoiur is correct. The secondary site is used at the branch office to limit the bandwidth used to replicate packages/information over the WAN from the primary site to the secondary site. If the boundries
are correct the Client will even if it is assigned to the Primary site use the secondary site to download packages from the DP e.tc.
The SCCM client will always talk to the Primary Site servers MP, if you have poor bandwidth betweeen the Primary and the Secondary you could use a Management Proxy aswell on the Secondary site.
So the Site code is assigned properly.
