Client components installed but not enable
Hy!I got a problem with a few clients. After installing the SCCM Client some clients show that the components are installed but not enabled (in the configuration manager properties). In the tab "actions" are shown only 2 possible actions: User policy.... and machine policy....!Some ideas ?Greetings frankyk

Hi,It sounds like the client is not being assigned to the site. Can you check the clientlocation.log and post any errors from the log file.Kent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

The easiest way that I have found to force client re-registration (in mixed mode) is to delete the local (self-signed) ConfigMgr certificates from the SMS store and restart ccmexec on the client.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

Is this client in a different domain? Also, what are your client approval settings set to?
February 15th, 2010 12:10pm
Hy!The client is in the same domain. Client ist approved, assigned and marked as client = YES.If i look in the configuration manager properties of the client, the tab "components" shows that all components are installed but not enabled. The tab "Actions" shows only machine policy..... and user policy...!Franky

Was this an upgraded client from sms 2003 or was it from sccm 2007 sp1 to sp2?

Can you check and see if the client can access the MP? Usually when you only see 2 actions listed it means the client is not receiveing policy from the MP.

Perhaps try deleting the object from the central site and giving that some time to flow down to its management point, at the same time uninstall the client from the machine as well. Then reinstall the client and see if that works.
Not sure how many management points you have, but you could also try to reassign the client to another MP.

Hi, i m a real newbie at the sccm, so can you tell me what you mean bei delete the object from the central site? You mean, i should go to the server, all collections and delete the pc there and wait afterwords? How long will it take till the pc will be in

Hi,
1) Yes, just delete the client from the console. The client data will be back next time you run a AD system discovery, or the client initiates a discovery/inventory cycle.
2) open a command prompt, navigate to c:\windows\system32\ccmsetup\ run ccmsetup.msi /uninstallKent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/ | The Danish community for System Center products

Well, thanks for the help, but i still have that problem with my PC. Under the tab components it seem all items are installed but not enabled like in the other PCs in the domain. In the action tab there are only two policies avaible. in the first tab everything
seems ok. Site code ist right, Management Point too...
I only have 3 PCs in my domain (300 PCs) having that problem. They are all Win7 and the PC have always the hard- and software.
Do you know any more problemsolving tipps for me?

This is usually an indication that the computer can't get policies. Check locationservices and clientlocation log.

In all Systems it says Client: No; Approved: N/A; Assigned: Yes

To recap... The client appears installed when you view the client logs. There are no errors in the client logs. The client shows as Client = NO in the console. Right? If so have you tested the MP using the mp troubleshooter from the SCCM toolkit v2?
