My computer will not boot into pxe advertisement. I have been booting all week until now. I have cleared the pxe advertisement from the machine, removed the machine from sccm, and re-added it. I'm assuming other computers are booting via PXE without problem - you can be sure by checking the pxecontrol.log to make sure the PXE self test is completing successfully. In the SCCM Mgmt Console if you go to system status, Site where PXE is installed, Site System status then look at all of the messages from the PXE Service Point for a timeframe where you've attempted to image that computer. You should see something relevant to the computer MAC address that you've imported into the SCCM database that will give you an idea as to why the computer is not booting. Can you also check if the computer has multiple network cards (or wireless and wired adapters) that the MAC address you're using when creating the SCCM object is the wired adapter (just use the MAC address, the SMBIOS GUID is far too long to type in and isn't required for PXE booting). Also when you remove the machine object from SCCM (delete as opposed to remove collection membership I assume you are doing), wait 15 minutes for the deletion cycle in the data discovery manager to complete to make sure that record is being removed from SCCM successfully. This problem has been resolved. I had two objects that I feel were causing this problem. The first was my boot image, I deleted it and re-created it. Also since I was using a crossover cable the link was not always up, this caused DNS service to shutdown. I started DNS service back up and plugged both my lab SCCM server, and client computer into a switch so the link would always stay up even when the client was off. Oh I also removed the client and waited 15 minutes that may also have helped. Thanks Danny -Logan
