Every time I want to test and deploy an OSD to the target machine I create the package, task sequence, and advertisements. Then my last step is to import COMPUTER ASSOCIATION information for a single computer. Then I go to the UNKNOWN COMPUTER collection and refresh and see the target machine listed. However, the target machine is already listed as APPROVED and if I run the WinPE I get a THERE ARE NO TASK SEQUENCES AVAILABLE. I have tried changing thecomputer name (& used the MAC,ofcourse) in the IMPORT COMPUTER INFORMATION WIZARDbut it still shows up as APPROVED and client is listed as YES. If I right-click the computer name and choose to CLEAR LAST PXE ADVERTISEMENT there is nothing listed in there. 1) How can I get past this?2) Do I need to import computer information everytime I want to re-deploy a package in a testing environment?

If you are using unknown computer support, you don't need to import the computer or use a computer association, that's the point of unknown computer support. If you use import computer information for a system that already exists in configmgr, then it simply creates a reference to the existing resource. Are you trying to do bare-metal deploys? Refreshes? Yes, I am using UNKNOWN COMPUTER support. I am currently testing OS images where I have one system in which I will deploy an XP-x86 image to and make sure there are no device manager issues. If all is correct, I move onto the next architecture (XP-x64). Then I attempt a different OS like Vista-x86 and if no issues arrise then I move onto deplolying Vista-x64. In the task sequence, I choose to complete a quick format so that it looks like a bare-metal deployment.

Then there is no reason to import any computer information. Can you elaborate more when you say delete any resources?
