Hi, I've been working with System Center Essentials since September 4, 2009 and I've been having problems. In a nutsheel, when I view the main screen the "All Computers" groups shows that there are (97) computers. If I look at the administration screen I see that there are 169 computers reported as agent Managed. A subset of these show the following: Health State Not monitored Version Unknown Action Account Unknown Group policy manages settings for all computers so I'm at a loss as to where to go next to troubleshoot this. I've tried to uninstall/reinstall, I've deleted and allowed the softwaredistribution folder to repopulate, and I've re-registered the DLLs for WUA. please advise! ThanksFrederic Williams

Hi, I'm working with a pair of computers and they are both in the SCE Managed Computers group and the SCE Managed group policy appears to be working. I've deleted the regitry keys and run the resetauthorization per your instruction. Should I be doing a repair or anything else? The computers are still not showing up. I've disabled the firewall on a few of the affected machines to eliminate firewall as a possible problem. I will post results later today.Frederic Williams

Hi Frederic, In the log you posted, I found the WSUS URL is Talking to WSUS server = https://SCESERVER:8531 Did you enable SSL on your SCE server, you can check it in IIS manager - WSUS administration properties - Directory Security - In "Secure Communication", click Edit. If the "Require Secure channle" is not selected, please change the url to http:///SCESERVER:8530 in SCE Managed Computers group policy.

hi,I've tried it with both URLs, https://sceserver:85331 and http://sceserver:8530. I've got 97 computers showing in All Computers in SCE that appear to be working fine. the Updates tab shows over 200.Frederic Williams

Hi Frederic, In Administration space - Device Management - Agent Manged. Delete all the clients which cannot be shown in All computes group, then re-deploy the agents to these clients and check whether the problem still exist.

Hi,I've tried that. I just rediscovered 100 machines. I'm still only seeing 97 computers in All Computers. Seems like something is holding back the rest of my machines.Also, I've spent most of the day on this and discovered two things. I noticed that the group policy object for All computers was missing. The one for Managed computers was still there. I used the SCECertPolicyConfigUtil utility to unregister the management group and reran the configuration wizard. That appears to have recreated the missing policy object Second, I noticed that I can see the computers that aren't displayed in "All Computers" if I select properties for other Groups and can add them. If I proceed to add them to a group I can see their OS and Model but their MGmt status is in error. Please advise, Frederic Williams
