Custom Properties at report level
Hi Experts, We wan't to include "Custom Property" ( eg "Owner of the report" ) for all of our report on our Report Server. Two question:- 1. How to Add this property for all of our reports on our Report Server (we have more than 500+ reports on our Report Server) 2. Once this property is been added we need to search on Report Server by above mentioned property, to bring up all the report names whose string is empty. ( Report A has property "Owner of the report" and value as "ABC" and Report B has property "Owner of the report" and value as "", than search should bring up ReportB as it's property string is empty, and further going we can enter correct value for the each rdl file and re-deploy the report on our Report Server. Any Help for both of my questions? Thanks KumarKG, MCTS

Hi _Kumar, To my understanding, you would like to add a property for all your reports, and can search them according to the property value. Please correct me if my understanding is wrong. In this case, for the first question of yours, we cannot achieve it by Reporting services directly. SQL Server Reporting Services has offered an interface that used to manger the Report Server. The interface is Reporting Services web services. We can use ReportingService2005.SetProperties method to add a custom property to report, more detailed about it, please refer to the following article. ReportingService2005.SetProperties Method: http://64.4.11.252/en-us/library/microsoft.wssux.reportingserviceswebservice.rsmanagementservice2005.reportingservice2005.setproperties(SQL.90).aspx.. As for the second question of yours, I suggest you can achieve it by using search function on report manager. Please see the following article: Searching for Reports and Other Items. Moreover, you can download the sample code as a reference from here: Custom Properties for RDL Hope that helps. Thanks, Eileen
