DPM and VSS hardware providers
I have been testing DPM 2012 R2 with a hardware provider which is not on the DPM compatibility list (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh758219.aspx), and I don't see hardware snapshots invoked. What governs the behavior of when DPM invokes
a VSS hardware snapshot vs. software snapshot - is it based on a white list of HW providers, or is it based on the scenario of what applications are on the storage being backed up?
