Daily Health Report cannot be configured properly
Hello, I've tried to do my best to enable the "Daily Health Report" in SCE, but no luck so far. What I have done: In "Run As Accounts" I've created a new "Windows" type account using a username from the domain In "Run As Profiles" I've updated the "Notification Account" the use the account [1] for computer running the SCE I went to the "Settings" node and I configured all the parameters for the "Daily Health Report". In "Authentication Mode", I selected "Windows Integrated". When I press "Send Test Report", nothing happens. I've searched the logs to see if some error is logged, but I can't see anything. My mail server is Exchange 2007. I can't see any email there, which is I think because the authentication on SMTP fails (thus no email is logged). Strangely enough, I've also hit the bug: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/systemcenter/thread/81a27ace-4541-403a-88c5-68665e271318 Could you please point me to some logs that could help me to solve this issue? Thanks, Martin

While browsing SCE Alerts, I found the solution in one of them, which said: The account 'xxx' provided valid credentials, but is not authorized to use the server; failing authentication. Knowledge base article for this alert: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=67336&id=AFE86B0F-33F5-453F-BCA8-1777CD728B4E This was probably because I used Admin account there. When I replaced it for regular user account, I can receive the email. The referenced bug is still there, but I can live with that. Hope this will at least help someone ;-).

Hello Li, Today morning I was expecting the first report, but it didn't come. Test button doesn't work either. Strange. Let me do a few more tests to find out if I will be able to solve it or if I will need some help ;-). Martin

Hello Li, Sorry for the delay, I was busy with some other stuff. I did some more investigation on the server side and I found out that this time the messages are actually being sent. The problem is that they appear to be sent from the same address as is the receiving address (which is caused by the bug I have referenced). So my email client quite logically considers them as a spam, so they were moved to the SPAM folder. So it works, but it would be nice if Microsoft could fix the bug to prevent this. Best regards, Martin
