I was trying to create an SSL enabled web application and received an error message after hitting the OK button. After that I tried to re-create it, however, i received a message that the site already existed so i tried to delete it but also got an error. So how can I remove the orphaned new site so that I can try to recreate it again?

i think that you delete web application from Central Admin, please write you error message here, and you can use this command to delete. try it stsadm -o unextendvs -url http://MySite -deletecontent -deleteiissites
