Distribution Point - Task Sequence Failing

Hi

I had to remove the Distribution point role and re-add it, the DP's certificate expired and Clients PXE boots were failing as a result. Content distributes to the DP fine. However, task sequences are now failing. The clients can PXE boot, download the image file and apply it. But when they try to access any other content they come up with a:

HTTP result: 404

SendResourceRequest() failed with 0x80004005

The task sequence then fails with a 0x80070002. It looks like the content is still referencing the old location despite being re-distributed to the DP. Can anyone shed any light? thanks

this is almost always the Net user account access. Have you made sure it has the proper rights? Administration > SItes >Configure components > Software Distribution > Network access acount

and your task sequence should use the same account to access the netwrok

Hi thanks for the reply, yes I've verified the Network Access Account. The Task Sequence is able to access the Boot Image and the OS image itself - it can download and apply it. However, when it gets to other content it fails saying The System cannot find the file specified

Have you verified the source content is the actual content? Was it changed once the the DP rebuild? Can you load a SMSTS.log?

When removing the DP I removed the directory SCCMContentLib. I redistributed the Content from the DP group, I've Updated Distribution Points for Packages now, and they look like they are updating correctly, that is I can successfully validate their content. Applications don't have an update DP option and validating their content fails with a Failed to validate content hash

Is the contentlib all you removed? Or did you actually clean the drive, removed the DP, waited and removed it from the MP and only than re-added?

I removed smspkg and smspkgsig also, removed the DP, rebooted the server - the DP is also the MP. Then re-added it. Could I have added it back too soon?

If it was automatically removed than you are good. Can you post the CAS.LOG from the server?
