Distribution Point is not showing up

I've configured 2 DP's, and 1 being the mgmt point server. I'm not seeing any errors in the logs but when I go to Administation | Distribution Points it's empty. And obviously when I go to push packages to a DP there are none for me to choose from.

Hi,

It sounds like the DP didn't install succesfully, check the Component Status for errors most likely SMS_Site_Component_Manager, you can also check the log file sitecomp.log.

sitecomp.log and distmgr.log should show (un)successful installation attempts of a DP.

I looked the distmgr.log during deployment and no errors were being reported. I looked at the sitecomp.log now and I don't see errors. If I look in the Site Status it shows the DP and drives. However when I try to distribute the package no DP shows up, and if I look at the Distribution Points under Adminstation nothing shows up

and if you look at the two site servers under Administration both the primary and the site server are listed as having the DP role?

If a DP already has the package, that DP won't show up when you attempt to distribute the package, but not showing under under Distribution Points means something else is wrong.

I would remove and reinstall the DPs.  During the reinstall, take a look at the log files....

Yes the roles are configured. And I have removed and reinstalled them several times. What is interesting when I monitor the logs I don't see any activity. I believe when you install Configuration Manager that primary server automatically installs a DP. Is this correct?

You select whether to install a dp or not

I don't think that is the case during deployment of Configuration Manager. I think it install a DP on the primary automatically. That's what I'm trying to figure out. Because that DP never even stood up right. I believe the issue revolves around the fact that this site is very tight on rights... and I even found out that things were tighter then what I was told from the beginning. Usually I do everything in AD, SQL and Configuration Manager. That wasn't the case here.

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) as they can work with you to solve this problem.
