From a general standpoint, the answer to your question is yes, it does provide some options for you for Document Archival.The exact mechanics will depend upon what exactly you're looking for. If you want to maintain versions of a document as it is modified, this is available with a little configuration in the document libraries you want to set it up in. Simply open the settings for your document library and click the "Versioning Settings" in the General Settings section. In the next page you can select and configure your desired versioning settings, then click OK to apply them to the document library.If you're looking for something more along the lines of archival, for example moving documents from one library to another after a certain period of time, this is definitely doable but will take some effort to configure. More than likely, you'll need to create and apply a custom workflow to your document libraries to make this happen. Support for workflows like this built right into MOSS, but it will take some work in Visual Studio 2005 or SharePoint Designer in order to create the workflow for your environment. I did some digging, and it looks like Mike Gannotti has done a series of video screencasts, one of which covers how to set this up in MOSS.
