Email address wrong in alert subscription page

Hi

One of our users can't subscribe to alerts from a list because his email address is wrong. His address in the subscription page is "<name>@ssi.d" and it should be "<name>@ssi.dk".

In the User Profile service application, the email address is correct. I have tried to edit the email address and save his profile, but it doesn't Work.

Any suggestions?

Hi Waqas

The user is not getting any errors. He is just not receiving any welcome e-mail when he subscribes. And he is not getting any e-mails when the list is updated. Also, the problem is apparently only related to this list. Alerts are working ok for him on other lists.

1. If you have server access, you can update the User Information list of the site collection to set the appropriate Email ID using PowerShell or Code.

Refer: http://blog.falchionconsulting.com/index.php/2011/12/updating-sharepoint-2010-user-information/

2. In your scenario, you are saying that user subscribed with wrong Email ID. Remove the subscription and re-subscribe using "Alert Me". H

Site Settings>>SiteAdministration (Group)>> User Alerts. On this page, you delete subscription. Hope this

Hi Pradip

The user is not subscribing by entering his email address - the user name is automatically filled in. Besides, the alert works ok on other lists and libraries in the same site collection.

Jakob,

1. You can inspect the alerts collection of web site. Use SPWeb.Alerts property. This requires server code or PowerShell script.

Check the properties of SPAlert object.

2. Go to Central Administration site and check the Immediate Alerts job execution status. The page has relative URL as "/_admin/TimerJobHistory.aspx". On this page you set view specific to the Job. Ensure that you select the Job for appropriate Web Application. This page helps you to indentify the server from where the alerts job fail. Look at the ULS logs in the time span of 2 minutes when the job failed.ULS logs should be taken from the server causing job failure.

It may give clues to troubleshoot more.
