Error 0x80004005 while Capturing
I am receiving this error while trying to capture a operating system. Here is the process of the image.
1. Initially deployed operating system through SCCM.
2. Updated with business software, captured with windows PE/ImageX so it would not include the sysprep.
3. Deployed the ImageX image through SCCM and now I want to capture using the media disc so it will include sysprep.
The third step is failing with error: 0x8004005 right after "Running action: prepare configuration manager client".
Any suggestions?
Thank you

I have looked on the server and I cannot seem to find the smsts.log. I thought the log was only available through the Windows PE boot. I am capturing the OS image using the Capturing CD.

Re-syspreping an install of Windows is "bad" and strongly discouraged. Why don't you deploy your business applications during the OS deployment? That's the strength of OSD, it's not all about the image.
Are you using a build and capture task sequence?
What OS?
Are you directly using install.wim from the media?Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/default.aspx | Twitter @JasonSandys

I am not using a syspreped image, at least I dont think I am. This is the process I did.
1. Installed OS on a machine
2. Copied the OS, and prefered apps with IMAGEX w/out sysprepping
3. Deployed OS with SCCM
4. Captured OS with task sequence media (I ran from within windows). It fails at this point, it wont let me capture fully.
The idea is when ever I want to update the OS with additional apps I will send the IMAGEX image out to the machine, update it, and then capture the OS to deploy to other machines.
I understand the strength of SCCM is to deploy applications and the OS but many pieces of our software do not include the documentation to make a MFT file, and I am not strong at MFT's.

The OS is windwos 7, and I did use a build and capture so that may have been my problem right?
