Error in task Sequence Windows 7 Deployment
We are currently having a problem with our task sequence when deploying Windows 7 as and upgrade from Windows XP. The job goes as far as running the User state migration in XP, reboots and downloads the WIM image for Windows 7 fine. It then continues are runs a bunch of custom installs including the AppV client and related packages. It seems to fail in the last few steps of the sequence just before it joins the domain and restores the User State from XP. This is only happening on our Laptops, desktops using the same task sequence work 100%. Both have drivers injected into the task sequence. These are some of the errors that I can see in the SMSTS.log file on the machine after it fails. Just have a look at these posts: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/vi-VN/configmgrosd/thread/c1b8cfc6-7b60-4d69-a04e-957537dc4e2f It mentions: The simple solution is to create an AD group named "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users". It doesn't need to have any members, it just needs to exist. In my environment the AD group named "ConfigMgr Remote Control Users" is found in the Users container. Normally it is automatically created. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-IN/configmgrosd/thread/0b220484-a06f-4de0-9a56-d7b0bcf8f942 Please check if there is any clue in the Ccmexec.log file. Also, please see if you are running into the scenario in the following KB article: User state migration is unsuccessful on an ConfigMgr 2007 SP1 or SP 2 client after you install security update 974571 or Windows 7 SP1 Hope it helps. My blogs: Henk's blog and Virtuall | Follow Me on: Twitter | View My Profile on: LinkedIn
