Error while starting OWSTimer.exe timer job
Hi
I have wierd error I try to start Windows Sharepoint Services Timer (OWSTimer.exe) from Services MMC snap-in.
Could not start the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service on Local Computer.
Error 14001: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Has anyone encountered this error and can anyone suggestion solution for this error.

Make sure the account/password running WSS Timer Service (PWSTimer) is correct.
Else try to run SharePoint Product and Technology Configuration Wizard again.

Thanks to share your post.
For the issue, this can happen when compilation is run on machines that are missing the Visual C++ 2005 runtime environment redistributable. IncrediBuild
should in principle install this package, but in some conditions (in particular on machines that were running beta versions of 2.50 before) the installation may have been incomplete.
In order to solve this problem,
you should be able to fix this by running the file "VCRedist.exe" from the IncrediBuild installation folder on machines generating this error.
