Export extensions
Hi everyone!
How we can do, for a particular report (which means not for all reports installed on the server) to choose extensions when exporting the reports (actuallty, we only want to export .xls and .pdf extensions).
I know that we can modify a config file on the report server in order to disable extensions but that solution will impact all reports hosted on our server. Is there other way?
We are using SQL Reporting Services 2008.
Thanks in advance, any response will be appreciated.

With url acess you can specify the desired rendering extension as a parameter in the url string.
So if you want report A to render as .xls and report B as pdf following the user viewing the reports in IE the best option would be to include a parameterised hyperlink text string "Click here for Excel copy".my blog http://karlberan.wordpress.com/

You could create a different subscriptions using different render format.Sergei

Thanks for that response Karl, I knew that report parameters can do that but you give me the idea to design a IFRAME with on the top different buttons/links which provide navigation through the report and two links for exporting the report.
Using the report viewer provided by MS can't fit the needs by now. Didier.

Hi Didier, sounds like a smart approach. The report viewer has some limitations. Note that if you're using 2008 R2, there is also a Global expression reference for RenderFormat, so you can control visibility of certain report items in different render
formats (ie dont show graphics or header details or charts and only tables if in excel)my blog http://karlberan.wordpress.com/
