FEP Server
We're going to implement Forefront Endpoint Protection in our company... I've been checking the Prerequisites but I'd like to have a general understanding of this tool since I'm totally new. I work with SCCM, thanks to the technet and this forums I've been
able to work with sites, clients, packages, branch distribution points, and so on... but I had never heard about FEP until now that we'll implement it.
My first question is:
We have SCCM Console and SQL Database for SCCM in the same server (the
sccm server)... Now that we're implementing FEP, do we need to have a different server to install the FEP and its Database? Or it can be in the same one where we have SCCM?
I mean.. Will it be 2 servers (1 for SCCM console and database, and other for FEP install and its database)...
or 3? (1 for SCCM and its database, other for FEP and a third one for FEP database)....
Please let me know because we need to plan this with SQL people here.
Also... I've heard that we need to use some account for the isntalls and other configurations... Is it recommended to use the SMS account (the same that we use for all our work in SCCM), or should it be another account? are there any restrictions for the
account?
Your help will be really appreciated. I've read the prerequisites articles but since I dont know to much about it I would like some orinetation.

There's actually a FEP forum.

When I installed in in the lab I used the same server. I think that's what people are doing in production.

Sorry, I just did post it and it came automatically here (probably because the last of my topics was posted here)... Is there any way I can move this question to the other forum?

Only a moderator can move it and I'm not a mod in this one. Just mark this as answered and repost in that forum.

Hi,
As John says implementing FEP normally can be done on the same server as SCCM, of course depending on the number of clients in the environment. Splitting out the SQL reporting services part is the most common solution otherwise.
How many clients are there in your environment?

Hello
We have (at this time):
2974 Clients Total... From Which:
(302 Client = No)
(2672 Client = Yes)

Hi,
It sounds like you should be fine installing on the SCCM server, check out the pre-req on Technet, having enough diskspace for the TempDB is important and could perhaps be a problem if you don't have the disk space avialable.
