FIM 2010 & Novells ZCM 11.1 agent
Hi, We run Novells Zenworks Configuration Management Agent 11.1a on our desktops and FIM 2010 has just been installed recently. It breaks the authentication of ZCM with its user source eg. lookig in agent properties Logged In As: Not Logged In. Removing the FIM client corrects the problem. Just wondering if anybody has come across this and has a soln at all to have both able to cope with each other ;) Thanks.

I suggest you have 2 options - use one or the other but not both together. Not very helpful I know, but I expect these will never be good bed partners. Kind of like asking your IPhone to work with Windows Media Player ;). Most clients I know moving off Novell onto FIM are also retiring Zenworks.Bob Bradley (FIMBob @ http://thefimteam.com/) ... now using Event Broker 3.0 @ http://www.fimeventbroker.com/ for just-in-time delivery of FIM 2010 policy via the sync engine

Hi JClar. As much as I usually defer to Bob with all things FIM, in this instance I'm afraid I have to disagree. As you know ZCM11 is not dependant on any other Novell software, so organisations are continuing to use ZCM regardless of their directory roadmap. There is absolutely no reason why correctly installed FIM workstation extensions should cause any issue with the ZCM client, so if you are experiencing problems I certainly would not advocate removing or compromising your ZCM platform, rather verify the authentication model you have in place as the problems you are experiencing would be symptomatic of a broader issue. Cheers F

I believe this is being addressed in the next version of ZCM (11.2) so you might have to wait for that
