I am new to SSIS so please forgive the apparent stupidity of this question but I have set up an SSIS package with a Bulk Insert Task in the Control Flow. When I debug the task in BIDS it fails (the object turns red) but I can't find an error message anywhere. Can someone please tell me where the message is stored? Thank you, Matt

When you execute the package in BIDS you can monitor the progress of the package using the Progress tab (after package explorer tab). If you have stopped the package you can check Execution Results tab to see the error message.Nitesh Rai- Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question

Thank you, Matt Matt, in BIDS you can click on the "Execution Results" tab (it should be the last tab ) and the errors from the recent debug will be listed. Also you can use the "Error List" which by default is at the bottom of BIDS development window. If the Error List isnt there go to the main menu -> Click VIEW and from the list Select the "Error List". As you debug the list will should progress and errors if any.
