Go to Report from Chart Axis (X)???
Hi all,
I am looking to link a report from the values in the chart X axis? Not seeing anything in the properties. Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance!
Keith.

Hi There
If I have not misunderstood, you want to add drill-through action on "Label Data".
1. Right-Click the series on chart, select "Show Data Labels".
2.click anyone of them to have them selected. And right-click the Data Lable, select Series Label Properties.
3. In the Series Label Properties dialog, click the Action tab to configure the action you needed.
I hope this will help

Hi Syed,
Thank you for your reply! ... However I am already using the series labels to open sub reports.
I am looking to use the labels along the X axis (chart axis control) as a hyperlink to open another sub report (like drilling into divisions in the diagram above).
Thanks,
Keith.

Hi There
Thanks for your posting again. In this case I think you can right click on your series and configure the action you needed.
I hope this will help

Hi Keith,
According to your description, you want to use the labels along the X axis as a hyperlink to drill through to another report, right? As per my understanding, the label of axis has not action property in Reporting Services currently.
A workaround for this is hiding the axis labels. Then show data label and using data babel to show axis label. In this case, you can use the action property of data label to drill through to another report. The screenshots below are for your references:

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for your reply. Your solution looks close to what I need - can you explain the last line:
"Then show data label and using data label to show axis label. In this case, you can use the action property of data
label to drill through to another report"
Here is my report:
My series labels are already used to link to breakdown type reports. I am using this style graph as my figures should add up to 100%.
The X-axis drilldown is to open sub reports for sub departments.
Thanks,
Keith.

Hi Keith,
Thank you for you posting again. From your description and screenshot, it seems that you want to click the axis label to drill through to another report, such as ResourcesA, ResourcesB, or any other axis label, right? In my above post, I suggestion you
to hide the axis label and use data label to display it. However, the data label has already been used to display the percent data. So I am afraid the suggestion in my above post could not be achieve.
Base on your scenario, you can add a tooltip to the chart as a workaround for this requirement. The steps below are for your reference.
Hide the axis labels as I side in my above post.Right-click the chart and select Series Properties.Add the expression below to the Tooltip textbox:
=fields!Resources.ValueClick Action in the left pane and then select Go to report in the Enable as an action radio button.Specify a report in the Specify a report drop-down list.
The screenshots below are for your reference.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks Charlie - that's another approach I could take.
Will have to review options with usability team!
