I need to group and sum large amounts of data for a reports. As a general rule, is it better to put this in the stored procedure dataset or in the SSRS report? Thanks!!! LindaLinda

From my experience its always to group in the SP rather than grouping in SSRS. all kinds of grouping and sorting if is defined in the query then the report will perform better. HTH, Ram
