Hide Toolbar?
Hi,
I am using MOSS 2007.
I have this discusison forum that I suppose is just a list, but the list can receive email and the emails are archived so users can go in and see a threaded or flat view of the emails. The user clicks an email subject and if the original email has "replies" you can see all the emails going back and forth. This works fine, so here is my question.........
How can I hide the default MOSS toolbar. This toolbar says:
Actions | Settings and it has a drop down menu to change the "view". I want to hide this default toolbar for all uers, how can this be done?
Thanks,

Simple Fix.
in your Share point site go to:
Home > Site Settings > Permissions > Permission Levels
I believe your user's setting up are Contributors... in the permission levels you can adjust what contributors can do, view, see, delete ect....

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
The users that are accessing the site are in the "Visitors" group so they have just read only permissions. I am trying to completely remove the toolbar as opposed to hide certain elements on it. I am a site collection administrator and the toolbar DOES look different for me versus a user with read only access but I want to remove that toolbar all together.
Is this possible?
Thanks,

Well, for what its worth I solved my own problem. I ended up simply using CSS to hide the element(s) I wanted to.-Westside2008

Hi
I think you could also create new page and place a list web part on it (pointing to your list with emails). Inside of web part configuration section you should be able to hide all toolbars and options.
