Hide task sequence from 'Run Advertised Programs'
Hi everyone,
Is there a way to hide or disable or password protect an advertised task sequence from 'Run Advertised Programs'? I basically only want a task sequence to be initiated from WinPE. I've heard of a solution where you can block a TS from running on Windows
2000 machines so it will ONLY run in WinPE but I fear it may run into problems when the task sequence installs applications/runs other tasks when in the Windows 7 environment after the image has been applied.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance :)

if you want to hide a task sequence from RAP (run advertised programs) then simply advertise it to an OS that isn't in your organisation like Windows Vista X64 for example,
that would mean that the advertisement would only show up in RAP if the os was Windows Vista x64, however you'll be able to boot into pxe and run the advertisement from PXE boot as long as you've made the task sequence able to boot from pxe.
what problems are you worried about exactly ? the advertisment will only run on an OS that it's limited to, and in WinPE/pxe boot, that is not possible, hence you can run the advertisement.
also, take a look at this:-

Good idea!
You mean adjust the task sequence value:
“This task sequence can run only on the specified client platforms”
This will not meet the criteria for the SCCM client’s evaluation, but will work in PXE regardless.
Changing how the task sequence is advertised does not accomplish the goal, but I think this is what you mean.
Pretty clever.
