I have deployed IE10 to the business are a high requirement, there compliance % is on 66% and there a lot failed on some of the machines,

I was wondering is a there a query to find out what machines have what version of IE10?

we do not have software inventory enabled as yet, so is there any one having this sort of problem?

really cannot get the accurate numbers for the compliancy.

You need to enable software inventory to get a accurate numbers for IE 10 installations.

could you clarify this statement?  Since IE isn't in the add/remove programs, the only way to get an accurate count is to capture the exe?

Yes it is to use Software Inventory and inventory all .exe files and then use a query like the one posted above.

If you only need an approximate number, and you need it quickly, the Software Update Management console views can be a guide. Look at the Required/Installed/etc values, for a Cumulative Security Update for IE8/IE9/IE10 - this can rapidly show you how many computers need+have the update for IE10 (so that is your count of IE10).
