Incoming email settings not getting saved
HiI have downloaded and installed MOSS 2007 Trial version with SP2 on Windows 2003 Server R2 running in VMWare.I can bring the Sharepoint web site and Central Administration site in IE. However, when configuring incoming and outgoing mails the settings are not saved. Followed all the instructions provided at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262947.aspxFor some reason the setting are not saved. Nothing happens when I click the OK or Cancel button in Incomming email configuration page. When I go to Check Services Enabled in this Farm page it shows me that Email Service is not configured. Surprisingly, the OK button works in this page. Also, I am not able to create a new site. The settings are not saved when OK button is clicked.I have done uninstall/re-install a number of times. Everytime it is same. How do I resolve this?RajatOK. I followed Martin Kearn's instructions at http://blogs.msdn.com/martinkearn/archive/2007/03/28/how-to-install-sharepoint-server-2007-on-a-single-machine.aspx and resolved the issues. However, now I am not able to access the Intranet site. Something related to permissions. Trying to figure it out. Will update when done.RajatBy the way, I figured out why the OK/Cancel buttons were not working. JavaScript was not enabled in IE.Should have verified that first thing. Anyways, It was actually good that I stumbled on such a silly thing. Learnt some good stuff. Thanks Martin and Lambert.

Hi Rajat,
How is your issue going?
As you said you were not able to access the Intranet site. Could you please let me know the detailed symptoms? Or any errors in event viewer?
I noticed that in the Martin Kearn's instructions, he suggested to create web application with Host Headers.
If you do so, you may came across loopback check issue. you could resolve the issue following KB896861 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861).
Hope the information can be helpful.

Hi LambertThanks for replying.I did create web application with Host Headers and was getting this error
HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.Internet Information Services (IIS)
Setting the DisableLoopbackCheck registry key helped. Many thanks.Best regardsRajat
