Install XP software updates during deployment?
I am looking for some guidance about applying software updates to XP during SCCM deployment. I have an image captured with a TS, and adding a TS to install all updates will not work. any help is greatly appreciated.-- Onions have layers, so does SCCM, and both will make you cry..

Your updates need to be advertised to the same collection as your OSD TS. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

Can save administrative burden when using lots of different OSD TSs but only one "Software Updates plan".Kind regards Tim Nilimaa IT Consultant at Mindgrape (Sweden) Please remember to mark this answer as helpful if it helped you.

I haven't thought through this very well but I think it may not work for me. We deploy software updates from the central site but the central site has no clients. My OSD collections are built at the child primary where there are boundaries and clients. I'll play around with it when I get some free time and report back. Currently I have to deploy a second deployment of patches at the child site just for OSD. If your way works that's way better. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |
