Good day, I have installed: SCCM 2007 R3 + SQL Server 2008 SP1 + FEP 2010 Basically, I am trying to test deployment of FEP clients, but I assume that I need SCCM clients first. I have tryed the client push installation method. Nothing happens, nothing gets installed. On the collection membership, list also states there is no client installed on any machine. Hmm, how can i be sure it is installed? My sccm console still shows there is no client. Should I go through steps where client does not report back to the server? I also tryed manual installation of the client. I didnt find ccm.log, found ccmsetup.log (but in windows folder) Thanks for the replys though! Vedran

There should be a service called "SMS Agent Host" (ccmexec) up and running. Its logfile is called ccmexec.log. You have to update the collection membership and refresh the console to see the change from client=no to yes.

Yes I have the service up and running (to mention it, on all my machines). Log is also present, should I post the contents of it? I tryed updating membership and refreshing ofcourse, nothing changed the status from no to yes for the client!

are you able to discover site code automatically ? If not ,check the boundaries. 1.Check the Firewall Enabled or Disabled if enabled,allow the ports to talk to site server.Guide to add Ports to the firewall to allow the required files or policies to download. 2.Check Boundaries (could be (AD site or IP Range or IP Subnet) of the Agent are specified in the site server 4.Check the if there no DNS issue in the client and that client is able to resolve the SCCM server NetBIOS as well as FQDN without any issues. 5. Check if the Client is able to talk to Management Point or not using the following Links. http://<SCCM_SERVER/SMS_MP/.sms_aut?mplist —-should give you blank page http://<SCCM_SERVER/SMS_MP/.sms_aut?mpcert——should give you some random numbers 6.Check if WMI is working or not if not try repairing the WMI by stopping WMI service and renaming repository folder (C:\Windows\System32\wbem) and start the service. If the above test fails make sure that MP is working fine. Thanks for advice: 1. Firewall allows all traffic. 2. I have no boundaries set. 4. DNS resolving works ok! 5. I am not sure I am doing this properly, but all I get is error 404. By looking at the MPsetup.log, your Management Point installation is failed. That why you even don't find the MPControl.log. The first thing you would need to do is fix the MP issues. Please refer to the following articles which will help you resolve this issue. Now check locationservices.log and clientlocation.log to see if the client finds its correct MP or not also ensure you define the boundaries in SCCM. Once the above logs doesnt show any error messages,go to control panel,configuration manager and do automatic sitecode if it hapepnds or not ? It seems like it not able connec to AD with access denied error LSGetSiteVersionFromAD : Failed to retrieve version for the site 'WIN' (0x80004005) Can you check whether there is firewall installed on the PC? check whether you are able to connect to your Global catalog server on port 3268. Yes, finally all looks good! Thank you people, you helped me out! Your help was appriciated. So to sum up: AD schema extension was missing which caused missing of the System Management container within AD. MP was not configured properly (certain features were missing). Also, boundaries were missing. Thank you all once again.
