Installing SP1 and SP2 for SCCM
Hello All,I have a quick question for you. I know with most Microsoft Service Pack updates example Windows XP Service Pack Updates, SP3 will contain both SP1 & SP2. Does this apply to SCCM aswell or do I have to install SCCM SP1 then 2. Also are there any known issues when upgrading and does the SCCM clients on machines need to be updated or will they auto update ? Please advise, Thanks!!!

Hi,Yes when you install SP2 it will replace the client files located in the clients folder on the site server. That folder contains the client files used during the installation. Upgrading to SP2 has been a straight forward process for me, I normally do this:1) Uinstall WAIK from the site server and reboot the server2) Copy the sms_def.mof file and configuration.mof file if they contain custom changes3) Upgrade the site server to SP24) Monitor the process in the setup.log file and sitecomp.log file5) Create a client upgrade package6) Upgrade the clientsThe configmgr team has just released a great post today on installing and troubleshooting SP2 installations - http://blogs.technet.com/configurationmgr/archive/2010/01/05/the-configuration-manager-service-pack-install-guide.aspxKent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/members/Agerlund/default.aspx | The Danish community for System Center products

One more question guys. After installing sp2. Will remote tools work on users that still have the old sccm client? I will be updating the clients regardless but was jus thinking if there would be any down time for the support center and their end-users.
