KB977203 Setup Error
I'm getting the following error when trying to apply hotfix KB 977203. "Setup has detected that the build version of the system installed does not match the update you are applying to it. You can only install update on Build 2195 to Build
6005".
I'm trying to resolve the issue discribe here.

did you download the correct version ? are you installing this on the server or client when you get the error ?

Thank you for your response Niall. I am trying to install this on the server. My build version is 6487. I can't seem to find a fix for the issue I am seeing.

This IS an SCCM related issue. This is a hotfix directly related to issues encountered in SCCM during a USMT profile transfer and are caused by a previous hotfix. The hotfix referenced above corrects the issue within SCCM.
I am actually having a similar issue and need some eyes on it.

Need assistance with this as well...since applying the SP2 version only to my site server, all software distribution/advertisements to clients have stopped. No errors, no indication of ANY problem whatsoever, just no software getting to the clients.
Advertisements seem to be ignored. Refreshing machine policies has no effect, repairing the client has no effect. We uninstalled the hotfix and the problem remains.
And, not to be a jerk, but marking Eric Zhang's ridiculous response as an "Answer" is just infuriating.

KB977384 (the one you need before upgrading to R3) Supersedes KB977203 according to Jason Sandys.
