I try to solve this , but i find a n error on service search index (ssp).when i click on search setting on ssp this error apear:The search service is currently offline. Visit the Services on Server page in SharePoint Central Administration to verify whether the service is enabled. This might also be because an indexer move is in progress. I think first error to backuping , depend On this error. i searched for this error and i try any solution , but it dose not solved.

Sorry for late reply...... please check this services on the farm. Office sharepoint server search. windows sharepoint services search if one of the index or query server are in progress like stopping or starting then try to run the following stsadm cmd on the server: stsadm -o osearch -action stop[-f] stsadm -o osearch -action start Then check the services again. If it still show in progress mode then you have to assign the service their roles by using this command: stsadm -o osearch [-action] [-f] <suppress prompts> [-role] <index, query, or both> [-farmcontactemail] <e-mail address> [-farmperformancelevel] <indexing performance> [-farmserviceaccount] <account name> [-farmservicepassword] <password> [-defaultindexlocation] <directory> [-propagationlocation] <directory> the link is here : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262920.aspx afterward try to run the farm backup. I am feeling that one of your query or index server is not properly configured and so when you back up it is creating a problem. Hope this will help u out. Also can u pls put the logs so somebody can dig into it and help you out to come out from your problem. Thanks Aniket
