LTI Automation
I Understand that you can use LTI to automate O.S. Deployment but with MDT is their a way to keep applications and software that users have in the DB up-to-date automatically with no user interaction? Or would you need to install SCCM and perform a ZTI?

Hi, you might consider asking this question in the SCCM forums in stead of the SCOM forum. Here is the link:

If you are talking about the software installations that happens during the deployment using MDT, then it basically installs everything defined in the MDT DB by setting a variable called package001, 002 and so on! You can utilize this by running a TS on
the users pc with only the install software steps, and use CS.ini to make that sielent... You would still have to find a way to execute the LTI script on the users PC to kick off the process.
I would totally recommend using SCCM for this, as it will automate the process completely, and give you the option to monitor/inventory for versions, successful install e.t.c. You would of cause have to transfer your sw packages to SCCM, and do some configuration..
I you are talking installations strictly during OSD then LTI or ZTI both pick up the software packages and run them as they are configured to do, so you would maintain them in either Deployment workbench or SCCM,Michael Petersen http://blog.coretech.dk/mip/
