Let SharePoint recognize mirror SQL servers

I currently have two SQL servers set up that will be mirrors. If one server goes down, the other should come to its rescue. How do I tell SharePoint to recognize that the other is a mirror, and to switch to that one if the first server is down? Any links would be appreciated, too!

Many thanks :)

That really depends on how your database mirroring is configured. In theory, SharePoint will automatically failover to the mirror database after configuring the failover partner. However, will your databases automatically failover to the mirror? If you don't have a witness configured, it will not automatically failover, even if you configure synchronous database mirroring. You have to manually break the database mirroring session and bring up the databases in the mirror should the principal database server fails.

Trevor and Edwin: Thank you so much for your replies!

Trevor, the article really lead me to a great headstart!

And Edwin, thanks for the heads up! Your answer really sent me in a great direction. I didn't know what I was supposed to look for, and 'automatic failover' was a great keyword. Many thanks, mate!
