Local reporting services blank report
I just set up the local reporting services with iis. I uploaded the rdl, when i run the report i get a blank report in the browser window. When I export the report to Excel the data is showing. Is there some setting within the report manager that i need to set to 'show' so i can view the report data? Thanks in advance Sbolton

If yes then this might be one case , you upper hierarchy group [ field ] might be NULL [ validate sql ] and hence report grouped on Nothing so data on the first page shows blank . Can you validate how many pages report manager is rendering =Globals!TotalPages and check if on navigation to second page and forth you could see any data ? Rajkumar Yelugu

No there are no page breaks. On one report there is nothing showing when i run the report outside the designer. And one report i can see the params to be put in, but there is nothing showing in the browser. But i do see the export button.. i export the report to excel and i can see all the data.

When i try to 'deploy' the report from VS 2008 i get the error The specified report server http://sbolton01/Reports/ could not be found. Verify the syntax of the URL and that the report server exists

Hi SBolton, Test the main dataset query in SSMS without parameters. If it works, check the where condition in the query. Do it step by step. Remove one filter and check the query. Do you have any default values for the parameters. Take out each default value and check the report. Let me know if that works or not. Tarak.

This seems to be a 'Chrome' Issue.. The reports show up fine in IE! anyone else had this problem?

Hi SBolton, Not all report functionality is supported by all browsers. As you posted, using the Chrome browser to view reports will display incorrectly. Currently, the Internet Explorer browser is recommended which is fully support all the available report functionality. Since this is a product limitation of Reporting Services. It is my pleasure to help you to reflect this situation to the proper department. You can also submit feedback at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service provided. We appreciate for your understanding.
